Minnesota Updated Its Workers' Compensation Poster for 2026
Minnesota released a new version of its Workers' Compensation poster in Late February 2026. The poster is required for all employers and must be displayed where employees can see it. The state also provides translated versions in Chinese, Hmong, Somali, and Spanish.
If your Minnesota poster still shows a pre-2026 date in the bottom corner, it needs to be replaced.
What Changed
The January 2026 version includes updated language around psychological injury coverage. The poster now states that work-related psychological injuries may qualify for benefits in two situations: a post-traumatic stress disorder diagnosis with at least one month of persistent symptoms from a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, or a psychological injury accompanied by a physical injury.
The poster also includes updated contact information for the Department of Labor and Industry Workers' Compensation division: 651-284-5032, 800-342-5354, and dli.workcomp@state.mn.us.
The official poster is available on the Minnesota DLI workplace posters page.
Language Versions Available
Minnesota provides the Workers' Compensation poster in 5 languages. If you have employees who primarily speak one of these languages, make the translated version accessible alongside the English poster.
| Language | Status |
|---|---|
| English | Updated January 2026 |
| Chinese | Updated January 2026 |
| Hmong | Updated January 2026 |
| Somali | Updated January 2026 |
| Spanish | Updated January 2026 |
All 5 versions are available for download at dli.mn.gov/posters.
Minnesota also requires posters to be available in other languages when specific thresholds apply. The Paid Leave poster, for example, must be displayed in any language spoken by 5 or more employees. Check the DLI page for the full list.

FAQ
How many labor law posters does Minnesota require?
Minnesota requires 8 posters for most employers. Seven are included in the state's free poster pack. The Veterans Benefits and Services poster is required separately for employers with more than 50 full-time employees. Several additional posters are informational and encouraged but not mandatory.
Does Minnesota require posters in languages other than English?
It depends on the poster. The Paid Leave poster must be displayed in English and any language spoken by 5 or more employees or independent contractors. Other posters are available in Chinese, Hmong, Somali, and Spanish through the DLI. Providing translated versions is a good-faith compliance step for employers with non-English-speaking workers.
Where do I download Minnesota labor law posters?
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry provides all required posters for free at dli.mn.gov/posters. You can download individual posters or a combined poster pack PDF. You can also order printed copies through the same page.
What is the penalty for not posting required labor law posters in Minnesota?
Minnesota does not specify a single fine amount for missing posters across all statutes. Penalties vary by poster. For example, workers' compensation posting violations can be cited during workplace inspections. In practice, the bigger risk is an employee not knowing their rights, which can lead to complaints, investigations, and liability for the employer.
